The last Mailchimp Newsletter
I decided to switch over to Substack and this is the last email I sent on Mailchimp. Adding it here for the archives.
Hey Friends!
I'm changing newsletter providers and there is a bit of housekeeping to do:
It has been a while since the last newsletter and a few of you wrote to ask if I was doing ok (thank you!) And yes, I'm still around and making things.
I have been using Mailchimp for sending this newsletter but it always felt a bit clunky and full of marketing fluff I didn't need. And I think that stopped me from engaging more.
In an effort to simplify things and post more often, I moved over to Substack. It's not perfect because I'm not planning on charging for the newsletter, but hopefully it's more user friendly both for me and for you.
So what happens now?
If you want to keep on getting updates from me, there is no action required of you.
If you want to unsubscribe you can click here or simply reply to this email and I'll remove you manually. And absolutely no hard feelings about unsubscribing, interests change, and I want to support you in protecting your limited attention.
That's it. The next one will be coming from Substack and there will be an additional option to unsubscribe there at the bottom of the email.
Done with the housekeeping 😅
Onto more fun things:
A few things of note I've done since the last time:
I published another zine with with Theo Ellsworth called Mind Shrines.
I finished another Pop-Up zine called The Other.
I completed a commission for a series of kinetic pieces with chunky architectural features carved out of basswood. Here is a post with some in-depth documentation of the process.
I've been working on a new zine and this time it's all hand-painted watercolors and lots of pattern play. Here are a couple of pages:
I'm still posting stuff on Patreon on a monthly basis and you can get most of those posts for free.
Instagram is also active even though, like a lot of people, my social media enthusiasm is waning. I had a good stint on TikTok and I've tried other sites like Mastodon and Cara. But even talking about all of them gets tiring, which is why I want to pay more attention to the newsletter.
Anyway, that's it for now, I hope summer is treating you well, and thank you so much for following along!
Federico :)
