Imaginary Furniture ๐๏ธ
Hey Friends!
On the last update I mentioned a new zine in the works and I'm happy to say it is now available, I think the printing turned out great.ย
If you are wondering about the title, rest assured, I also think it's weird ๐. There isn't a lot of furniture in the drawings but this sentence kept on popping in my mind while I was working on it.
Theย imaginative nature of the drawings made me think about the way we "furnish" the spaces of the mind. Some of these objects might not be related to real, earthly furniture, but might just be concepts, or mind scapes. Hence furniture of the mind or imaginary furniture. Also I might just do an Imaginary Furniture 2 with more chairs and tables and the like in the future. ย
Check out the video below for a 1 minute flip through the pages of the zine:

The shopping season has come and gone (and I'm always late for these things) but if you want to add an original to your collection there are a couple of pieces available here. The one made with wood inlays even has a niftyย making-of video.
On my Patreon page I've been exploring the process of making a short run of pop-up zines cut by machines and assembled by hand. I've been really into paper folding for the past few months. Parts one and two are open for anyone to read right now and here is one of the prototype pages I've made:
I've been using Patreon to post a lot of process and experimental projects. The contributions of generous folks like you feel to me like receiving a monthly art grant that helps me go in strange and otherwise unprofitable directions. I don't tend keep things behind the "paywall" forever so if you want to get more frequent updates on these kinds of projects you can simply hit the follow button on this page, no money required.ย
Wishing you some happy (and safe) holidays and a happy new year from my messy paper scrap filled desk in Los Angeles.
See you in 2022!
Federico :)
